About the Role

Validity is seeking a Full Stack WordPress Developer to not only maintain five websites, but to also help visually evolve our brand with high-performing websites and create seamless user experiences. This developer will work closely with our graphic design, content, demand generation, product marketing, and product management teams - so it is important to be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners. We are open to candidates who can work out of our Boston, MA (Financial District) office or remote candidates in the USA, based permanently in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA.

Team Dynamic

  • Data-driven, able to make recommendations and implement changes based on website analytics
  • Have an understanding of key marketing objectives and can implement website solutions to drive results
  • Have an extensive background in UI and UX design
  • Understand the importance of eliminating tech debt and improving site speed

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize site speed
  • Maintain website security
  • Develop and implement interactive web elements that engage visitors and increase time on site
  • Create and guide the website architecture
  • Maintain the CMS instances for optimal performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the goals and objectives of each page to offer recommendations
  • Work with Senior Graphic Designer to turn layouts and wireframes into HTML pages
  • Keep themes and plugins up to date
  • Manage the back-end and website architecture
  • Effectively manage any additional contractors needed to deliver on larger development projects such as entire site redesigns
  • Conduct performance tests and troubleshooting issues
  • Enable designated stakeholders to make minimal copy changes on the site themself
  • Monitor live website performance
  • Ensure projects stick to budgets and deadlines
  • Provide diagnostic reports of website performance with improvement recommendations
  • Research and utilize industry standards and trends
  • Take care of security and compliance standards
  • Implement tracking code through Google Tag Manager
  • Analyze and diagnose site traffic and conversion points

Required Experience, Skills, and Education

  • Minimum 5 years of WordPress development experience
  • In-depth understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Experience in building user interfaces
  • A solid understanding of user experience
  • Experience in developing responsive websites
  • Familiarity with tools like Chrome Inspector and Firebug
  • An eye for detail in browser and platform visuals
  • Interaction with REST APIs and formats such as XML and JSON
  • Awareness of code versioning tools such as Git
  • Experience with Divvy and Elementor
  • Web analytics experience
  • Knowledge of PHP back-end development
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, IT, or a related field. Relevant industry experience and portfolio will be considered in the absence of a degree

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education

  • A background in digital marketing
  • Experience with GA4
  • Conversion rate optimization experience with tools such as Hotjar, Crazy Egg, and Unbounce
